Free Cell Phone Upgrades: How Can You Know if You Are Getting the Greatest Deal? by Rolanda Vang
Mobile phone upgrades are easy to do – if you already know where and how to do it. See more here: Click on this link
A “cell phone upgrade” is where an existing user of a network (eg T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange, O2, 3G, Virgin and many others), who has been with that network for about 1 year since getting their last cell phone, gets a brand new cell phone from the network at a free, or low-cost discount price, in return for agreeing to stick with that network for another year, with a 12 month contract agreement. The user keeps his or her current cell phone number, and stays with the same network. This is called a “cell phone upgrade” – typically it’s a free cell phone upgrade!
To get the very best offer for a free or low-cost cell phone upgrade, you should understand this. The cell phone networks pay a cell phone dealer more for a brand new user (new cell phone contract) than they do for a cell phone upgrade customer. This odd situation has been the same for many years. The only network that seems to pay cell phone dealers nearly as much for an upgrade user as for a brand new free cell phone user is Three (also called three or 3G). The other cell phone networks simply do not seem to value their existing customers as much!

The craziness of this example is that it encourages you to be disloyal to your current network.
What does this mean to you? How can you get the best deal from knowing all this, so you may get a free cell phone upgrade AND get other benefits? Read on …
The amount that a cell phone vendor can give to you will depend upon how much cash he’s making. If he’s making extra money from a ‘new’ cell phone contract customer than for an upgrade user, then he’ll be able to give the ‘new’ cell phone contract user a bigger discount or a free cell phone or maybe more!
Now, did you know that as an alternative to upgrading your phone on the same network (where you probably will not get such an excellent deal or a free cell phone and many others), you’ll be able to switch to a NEW and totally different network AND keep your existing cell phone number? This is true.
Now, knowing that you can keep your cell phone number, and that you may usually get a better deal as a ‘new’ user on another network, what are you going to do?
You’ll be able to simply turn into a ‘new’ user on a different network … this new network then deals with you as a brand new user, offers you all of the free cell phone bonuses and gifts, etc., AND you keep your cell phone number!
So by simply looking around at all the offers available to you on all the other networks
Before you are taking the jump and switch to a different network for your free cell phone upgrade, think about this …
Imagine you call your current network to inform them that you’re considering leaving them to switch to another mobile network. Often, that particular person you talk to will be on a commission to keep your business: ie they will earn a bit of money if they will convince you to stick with that cell phone network. This means that you should use this to your advantage.
Inform them that you have had an excellent offer from another network (and don’t lie – they will almost definitely know exactly what you can get with another network). Merely ask them if they will equal or better the deal offered by this other network.
If they will equal it, then it is most likely not worth the problem of switching cell phone networks and the paperwork. It’s not an excessive amount of problem to do the switch, however, obviously it is easier to stick with your current cell phone network.
Free cell phone upgrades could be obtained in this way quite simply by understanding how the system works and the way the money works in mobile phones and free cell phone upgrades.
So the next time, just ask your current cell phone network if they’ll better the free cell phone offer from another network.
